Sauna Door Location and Sauna Glass Questions and Answers

Should the sauna door face inward or outward?

Generally speaking, your sauna door should be left open. Plus, if your sauna door is open, it will protect the sauna user. It's easy to stay too long in a sauna, overheat and rush cold water, so it's best to keep the door open.

Will the sauna glass break?

This is important because extreme differences in temperature inside and outside the sauna can also cause windows and doors to crack. We are using 8 mm tempered glass.

How thick should the sauna glass be?

By default, the sauna walls and sauna doors are made of 8mm tempered glass.

Is tempered glass glass?

Tempered glass is about four times stronger than "regular" or annealed glass. Unlike annealed glass, which shatters into jagged shards when shattered, tempered glass shatters into relatively harmless pieces. Therefore, tempered glass is used in environments where personal safety is a concern.

How to tell if glass is tempered?

The boards have smooth, uniform edges due to the extra treatment. On the other hand, if the glass is not tempered, the edges will feel rough to the touch. So, the best way to feel it is to touch the edges with your fingers.
