Smartmak has created an outdoor wood-fired hot tub that recharges you while you reconnect with nature and family. And it's a steep-sided wooden bathtub known for having healing properties.
Drawing inspiration from the healthful Japanese Ofuro soaking tub and infused with a simple Bauhaus form, the hot tub measures 90 x 32 x 34-inches.It can accommodate two people in its red cedar interior, which is encased by a marine grade aluminum shell. The hot tub can be heated with wood via an integrated stove that breathes through a stainless steel pipe, while a built-in storage area lets you keep a pile of logs and bath-related products (e.g., bacon soap, a bottle of bourbon).

By being designed for just two occupants, it saves on water and creates a very intimate atmosphere for you and your significant other. The process for using it is pretty simple. It can be movable with the pipe and cedarwood removed, and the water can be used for several days. The rig is also safe to use with Epsom Salts, baking soda, and other mild therapeutics.

Granted, a tub of steaming hot water probably isn’t what you’re hankering to soak in during a scorching summer afternoon. For slightly windier summer nights and the chillier days of the year, however, this thing should offer an incredibly relaxing hot bath, while still making for a fine place to rest up and beat the heat during the warmer days of the year (just light a small fire or keep it unheated).
